Pumpkin Patch

The kids have been dying to go to the corn maize here in Meridian, so we decided to go a couple of weeks ago. It was lots of fun! The kids each took turns deciding which way we should go and we actually got out. They also got to pick out some pumpkins to put on the porch because you know their mom loves to decorate the porch with pumpkins! Here are some pics of the kids.

Utah Friends!

When we were in Utah the last time we got to meet up with some of our great friends from the Eagle Mountain neighborhood. We got together and took the kids mini golfing! It was a lot of fun! Mostly because I got to talk with Stacey! :)

POJO's (The Chuck E CHeese of Idaho)

We found a new fun place that we all loved! I was excited because I won about 450 tickets! It was great fun! When we were at the walkathon we won a basket of cool stuff at the silent auction. In there we got some gift certificates to Pojo's, so we decided for family night that we would try it out!

Service

Well, I have decided that I go through major phases in my life. I remember when I got married and we didn't have much then but we always tried to work hard to make a good life for ourselves. We've had major bumps in the road trying to get where we want to be, but have learned lots of great lessons along the way. I feel very blessed to be where we are at in our lives now. We are together as a family, have the privelege of having the gospel in our lives, and have so many blessings in our lives! Because of this I also think we have to remember others who are going through some of the "bumps" in life. The other day, I was teaching Coby's Sunday school class. As the children were talking and just goofing around like 8 yr olds do it was interesting that the talk started going in the direction of what they had and didn't have. As I have thought about this and how I wanted my kids to be able to react to these things I knew I needed to change something in our lives so that they learn at an early age what is important in life. I have also felt very strongly that I need to provide some service to help me and my kids remember what really is important in life. I thought back to when I was growing up and how my mom and dad made sure that I respected my elders. So, I got on the phone and started calling around to the local nursing homes to see if there was some way that the boys and I could help out at the center. Last week I took the boys over for a tour of the home and to meet some of the residents. They were so excited to come back. So, we set up a time to come and play games. So, today was our first day and we played BINGO. It was great fun! There was one gentleman who is confined to his bed and the boys and I went to say Hello! He was so excited to see these young boys and asked them to tell him something special about themselves. THen I also thought to myself, when is the last time I took a moment to ask my own children that question??? I think sometimes life gets so busy and there are all the "mom" things we do like swimming, hockey, and run run run. But, sometimes at least I know I forget to stop and think about what I could do for someone else. I saw my parents provide lots of service when I was growing up and I would like to be able to pass that onto my children and let them know that this is what is truly important and other things can and will wait. I have been so busy with work that I just needed to do something for someone else and this really was the best part of our day today and I just had to share! Here are some pics of the kids and how much fun they had! Thank you for reading my story today....if you got this far! :)

Faux Hawk?

I don't know how to spell it, but that is what Coby calls his hairdo today.....

The School Bus.....

I finally got my battery charged on my camera and got pictures of the kids on the bus. They love it!

New SHINER!

Last night I was sitting in the family room and heard a big crash and then screaming! I ran in and found the TV knocked down on the ground and Caden crying! He has a pretty good shiner and bump on his head! We are so lucky that nothing worse happened! I have heard some horror stories about kids getting hit by TV's. This TV will now stay on the ground!!

Bird House

When the kids were in Utah while I was in AZ Coby worked on some of cub scout requirements. He was able to make a bird house with Grandpa Pete and he is so proud of it! Here is Coby proudly hanging it out on the tree. We have tons of little birds that love the house!

First Day of School!

Well, believe it or not, the kids started school in July! We decided to put them in Year Round School this year because of my work schedule. Next year I will be teaching every other month in Scottsdale so we decided we couldn't take them out for that long each time I leave. Here are a couple of new pics, but my camera battery died, so I will add the rest later. They get to ride the bus to school and they love it! I think they are more excited about that than school!

Coby started 3rd grade this year and his teacher loves Hockey! He was so excited!

Kyler, Caden, and Kelton started Kindergarten! I know it is supposed to be sad with my babies going to school, but I think it is GREAT! :) I love em but we need a break! They have been in swimming lessons this summer and have become little fishies! I can't believe how much they change all of the time!

First day at our new ward

When we went to church for the first time here in our new ward we knew that we had made the right decision. We loved our last ward, but it was a lot of really young families and we were feeling old. This ward is great because they have young people and all in between and elderly people as well. Huge difference. Our ward boundries are really spread out, but everyone in the ward is great! I already have Visiting Teaching assignments and I am really excited to be involved in the ward. There are also lots of people here who are from Utah and there is a real sense of a ward family because so many people have family away from them.Coby has also been able to start attending scouts and loves it and has met lots of new friends. They had a scouting party and it was a pool party. I thought it would be these little blow up pools, but I took him over and it was this huge custom rock pool with a rock slide, hot tub and all of the works! He had a great time! Here is a pic of their first Sunday.

We finally got our GIRL!

Bet I scared ya! Ryan and I came together on a compromise for our girl. Here she is CADDIE!
